The Sims 4: Wedding DLC comes to Russia after all after troubles
In reality, Electronic Arts had recently declared that they would not announce The DLC “My wedding stories” to The Sims 4 in Russia. The reason behind this is in addition to the fact it was because this download expansion is focused on gay relationships. In Russia, the issue could fall under “homosexual propagandism” that is prohibited in certain Russian regions. So, EA chose to halt the release until now.
Because it was followed by a massive outrage from the ranks of Sims 4 fans and the Russian LGBTQIA+ community, who are highly dissatisfied with this kind of decision. Electronic Arts have probably taken to heart the DLC will be released on February 23rd in Russia.
According to the statement of officiality, states: “Since then, we have listened to the demands and concerns of our members, from acceptance of our decision to concern for the other members of our community. It’s equally important that we adhere to our principles that include taking a clear anti-homophobia stance and sharing stories like this with people who need and want them the most. This is why we reviewed our options and found out that we could do more than we initially thought we could, and will make available The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories Gameplay Pack to our users in Russia, too – unaltered and also featuring Dom as well as Cam.”
